I know I said I wouldn't release the full color version until it's finished, but this isn't finished YET...so I thought since I'm not done fine tuning I'd still give you a preview.

I'm weighing my options as to what to use as a background and integrate with him as the subject. I have some ideas and I've tried some things, but I'm gearing towards something different at the moment. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done, and if any of you have any ideas, feel free to throw them my way. I'm open to suggestions and constructive criticism.

I still need to do a little work on his lips ;) and create a chord for the headphones, as well as tweak some things on his jacket.

I'm still not sure if this color background will do for the final piece...

There are 2 things I was thinking about doing:

painting a background image, such as a landscape: ocean waves, stars/nebula background, or clouds such as I did in :Stand Under My Umbrella:

or

possibly do some vector or freehand illustration to represent the music coming from the headphones, and the power and passion that music ignites and inspires in anyone who is a music lover (and who really isn't a music lover, I mean, really?)

So comments and suggestions are always appreciated :D :D

I'm very excited about this piece, I just want to take it to the next level in order to complete it and wow everyone! (edit: just made some angle and perspective arrangements and changes to his eyelids and lips...tweaks a few other minor but necessary things!) :D

I think the background would look good being something with a shade of light olive brown. But it's very good so far, I love it.

thank you! I ultimately chose the turquoise blue since it worked with the bright colors in the final piece and brought out his hair
